Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Paro (2250m) – Thimphu (2350m)
Upon your arrival at Paro airport meet the representative and Bhutanese guide then drive towards Paro for Lunch. After lunch drive for Thimphu then begin your sightseeing tour of Thimphu. Drive to the Buddha Terrance for a stunning view of the valley and then pay visit to Takin Preserve to witness national animal of Bhutan, Takin. Afterwards grab a majestic view of Tashichoe Dzong, the seat of government and then circumvent the National Memorial Chorte, a monument erected in memory of Bhutan’s third king H.M Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Later visit Centenary Farmers Market, the new authentic craft bazaar, National Institute of Traditional Medicine that still dispenses traditional herbal medicines to the locals, and the Folk Heritage Museum. At the evening drive towards Hotel.

Day 2: Thimphu – Punakha (1,320m) – Thimphu
After breakfast, drive towards Punakha via Dochula Pass (3140m) and witness the majestic Himalayan panorama of eastern mountains. En-route, take a short hike to Chimmi Lhakhang located atop a hill amid rice field. The lhakhang is located 10 kilometers from Punakha near a village called Sopsokha from where a 20 minutes’ walk along muddy and dusty path through agricultural fields of mustards and rice, leads to a hillock where the monastery and the chorten are situated. Chimmi Lhakhang is dedicated to Drukpa Kunely and also popularly known as the fertility temple. Afterwards, drive towards Punakha and visit the Punakha Dzong, one of the most beautiful dzong of Bhutan. Later, drive back to Thimphu.

Day 3: Thimphu –Paro and Hike to Taktsang Monastery (3120m)
Early in the morning drive towards the Thimphu and then further to the base camp of Taktsang and commence the hike towards the Tiger’s Nest. Hike takes about 2 hours to reach cafeteria which provides the spectacular view of monastery. Then hike further to Taktsang Monastery and observe the spectacular sight of the Paro Valley. The monastery itself is surrounded by majestic mountains and beautiful green valleys. Its architectural design is shaped with best of Buddhist traditions and arts. The monastery is a white building with a golden roof and has four main temples and several dwellings. Later hike back to the road point then drive to Kyichi Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines in Bhutan. Afterwards visit Rinpung Dzong built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646 and then drive to the Hotel.

Day 4: Paro - Depart
