Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu (1300m) to Gyirong (Nepal-Tibet border) 2800m – 145 km
Our driver will pick up you from hotel at 4 am then we will drive through the beautiful countryside, rivers and traditional villages. After arriving Gyirong (2800m) where it is surrounded by snowcapped mountains and dense forest, we will do the necessary border formalities at immigration. We will stay overnight in Guesthouse.

Overnight in Gyirong (Nepal-Tibet border)

Day 2: Gyirong – - Tingri (4300m) – Shigatse (390KM)
Embark on a day drive uphill to the highest plateau of the world, experiencing the breathtaking Tibetan landscape. Cross over Gyatchu La (5,220M), the highest pass en route to Lhasa. From Lhatse, a road to Mt Kailash bifurcates to the west. Overnight stay at a hotel in Shigatse.

Breakfast:

Day 3: Shigatse – Lhasa (3650m) 260KM
In the morning, visit the Panchen Lama's Tashilhumpu Monastery, a renowned landmark of Shigatse. Afterward, drive to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Overnight stay at Hotel Yak in Lhasa.

Day 4: Lhasa tour – Potala Palace, Johkang Temple and Barkhor Street
Today after breakfast your tour guide will bring you to the Potala Palace which is the winter palace of the Dalai Lama and was put to use since the 7th century by the 33rd great king of Tibet then we head to Johkang Temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of tibet in the 7th century, You can see the inside the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of 12. Outside you can see Pilgrims making prostrating in front of Johkang Temple. Around the temple there is Barkhor street, where you can do Kora with Pilgrims and locals and also explore the old market. Overnight stay at Lhasa.

Day 5: Lhasa Tour- Drepung and Sera Monastery
In the morning, you are going to see Drepung Monastery which is one of the “Great Three” Gelung Monasteries of Tibet. It was founded in 1416 by Jamyangchoge. You can explore the biggest kitchen of monastery and enjoy Buddhist Sculpture carving workshop near Drepung. In the afternoon time, you will explore the Sera Monastery which is another one of the “Great Three” Gelung Monasteries of Tibet. The hot attraction is the monks debating in the courtyard of Sera Monastery and many other ancients’ attraction. Overnight stay in Lhasa

Day 6: Lhasa – Gyantse (4300m) 260km
Embark on a picturesque drive, crossing over Karola (5,010m) and Kambala (4,749m) passes. Witness the stunning beauty of Yamdrok-Tso Lake, renowned for its turquoise waters and snow-capped peaks. Arrive in Gyantse and visit the Kumbum Stupa, the largest stupa in Tibet, and Phalkor Monastery, known for its 10,000 Buddha statues. Overnight stay at a hotel in Gyantse.

Day 7: Gyantse - Xegar/Tingri (4200m) 334km
After breakfast, drive to Tingri. Overnight stay at a guest house in Tingri.

Day 8: Xegar to Kerong Border to Kathmandu 395km
Early morning, drive to the border crossing and proceed back to Kathmandu, concluding your 8-day Tibet Overland Tour.
