Captain Cook first landed in the Tongan islands on 2 October 1773, during his second Pacific voyage. In 1774 he returned for four days and received such a warm welcome that he named Tonga the “Friendly Islands”

The biggest blowholes in Tonga that stretches across the coastlines. Want to see the waves grow bigger ? Scream and shout to intimidate the ocean to make bigger angrier waves.

How the rock came about is a mystery even to the experts , some say a big Tsunami brought the big Rock to shore but many believe it has a mythical link to demigod Maui.

Lapaha is a village community of around 2200 people in the Hahake (eastern) district of Tongatapu in the Kingdom of Tonga. It is the location of an ancient royal dynasty headed by the holder of the paramount Tu’i Tonga title, which held political authority over the dispersed islands of the Tonga Group during the 2nd millennium AD and influenced other parts of the Pacific such as Samoa, east Fiji and Wallis/’Uvea Island.

We will be basically be driving around the Island of Tongatapu

This is an optional stop as it is not suited for everyone as it involves walking into the cave which is not an easy access and only has dimmed lights , admission is extra paid directly to the keepers of the cave at $15 pa'anga per person.
