Tour Overview

In the company of a private guide you will visit the “must-see” sights and ancient wonders of Rome. The tour includes visits to the Colosseum (outside and inside) and  the Roman Forum. Marvel at monuments such as the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Il Vittoriano, Piazza Venezia and ancient temple of the Pantheon and much more. Explore the Vatican City to admire its wonderful Galleries, the breathtaking Sistine Chapel and the amazing St. Peter’s Basilica. This tour is perfect if you have a short time in Rome and want to make the best of it.

  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements
  • Please provide the full names of all travelers when booking. Failure to present a voucher with all travelers' full names at the ticket office prior to entry may result in denied entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
  • Please note: you'll be advised about the tour start time only after booking, you can leave a preference about morning or afternoon and we will try ( according to availability) to set the preferred time.
  • At the moment the Basilica is not accessible from the Vatican Museums because of anti-Covid19 measures. Our tour guide will explain everything about it and you can go there on your own right after the tour. Our guide will assist you.
  • READ CAREFULLY: Because of the growing popularity of the current pope Francis and his intense activity in organising mass events in the Vatican some areas might get closed last minute without previous notice. This has already happened this year and can happen again during you Vatican tour: the Sistine chapel and/or the Basilica of Saint Peter might not be accessible. In case of such events our tour guide will provide you with a valuable alternative focusing the tour inside the Vatican museums.
  • Each traveler must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1
Day 1 (4 hours) The tour continues with a visit to the Trevi Fountain, scene of many a famous movie including Fellini’s La Dolce Vita.  Follow legend by throwing a coin in the fountain and making a wish that some day you will return to Rome! Next on the tour you will see the Parliament Building, the Palace of the Council of Ministers and the Column of Marcus Aurelius.  These magnificent buildings are located in the Government District. Close by is the historic Temple of Hadrian, built by the Emperor Antonius Pius in honour of his predecessor.
Day 2: Day 2 Vatican tour
The tour starts with a visit to the Belvedere Courtyard, the Pio-Clementino Museum and the large collection of Ancient Roman and Greek statues.We then continue to the Gallery of Tapestries and Gallery of Geographic Maps which houses some of the world’s most important Renaissance maps.  We then see and learn something of the largest canvas painting in the Vatican displayed in the Sobiesky Room and also visit the frescoes in the Immaculate Conception Room.You will visit the rooms painted by Raphael for Pope Julius II and learn a little about the painter and some of his greatest works, especially the Parnassus and the School of Athens.
