Hello from Cyprus Taste Tours! A group of true foodies, our activities focus on discovering Cyprus through food & wine... There's nothing like tasting fresh, warm hallloumi cheese straight out of the pot and on this small group excursion there'll be plenty to enjoy throughout the day! During this unique activity you'll have the opportunity to make 2 kinds of Cypriot cheeses alongside a local family. The workshop ends with a tasting of the cheeses plus a delicious brunch! We'll also include 3 bonus stops to further explore the mountain countryside... A beautiful monastery where you'll have time to roam the grounds & enjoy this scenic location. A winery visit where we'll tour the premises, learn about the indigenous grape varieties of Cyprus and taste a selection of wines. Exact timings will depend on the pick-up locations and final number of participants. If you need to be returned to your drop-off point at a certain time - please let us know well in advance. Transportation is not charged for this experience and is offered free of charge with your culinary activity. The fee paid to Cyprus Taste Tours is strictly charged for hosting and culinary activity services. There is no discount applied if you wish to join with your own driver/vehicle. Participants are responsible for checking the current covid restrictions and rules of movement within the Republic of Cyprus before their tour and bring along anything that is necessary (e.g. Flight Pass / Safe Pass / Negative Covid Test / Face Mask etc.) We look forward to hosting you safely!

Itinerary

Stop 1:

We'll pick you up from a Paphos location of your choice. Our team guarantees you a fantastic day out - we'll make the most of your time with us and take you on a bespoke journey through Cyprus villages. Established in 2011 - we're confident we know all the best spots and we never stop exploring! We're all fully trained in the traditional foods and wine of the island and you'll be sure to receive a professional, 5 star experience. When booking with Cyprus Taste Tours - you'll be supporting a small local business and helping to keep the culture & traditions of the island alive! The timings stated on this description page are a guideline only and are subject to change - if you need to get back to your accommodation at a certain time - YOU MUST LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE!

Stop 2: 0.7 hours

You'll be picked up from a Paphos location of your choice and driven into the Paphos region of the Troodos mountain range to reach the destination of our host. This will be a beautiful scenic drive through villages and vineyards. We keep our tours authentic by visiting true locals and because these local villagers are busy with every day life – we cannot guarantee which stops we’ll be visiting after the cheese-making workshop... However, here’s an example list of products - honey / traditional sweets / wine / donkey milk products / carob honey / chocolates.

Stop 3: 3 hours

You'll be taken to the house of a local village lady to learn the traditional technique of halloumi and anari cheese making. This hands-on workshop ends with a delicious tasting that will include the cheeses made.

Stop 4: 0.5 hours

While driving through the Paphos countryside we'll also include a bonus stop at a scenic, historical monastery.

Stop 5: 1 hours

At this fantastic boutique winery you'll have the chance to meet the family behind the wine-making and have all your questions answered. You'll tour the premises and learn about the process and history of wine. This will be followed by a tasting session where you'll discover the indigenous grape varieties of the island.

Stop 6: 0.5 hours

On our way back into Paphos we'll stop in the village of Geroskipou to learn about the traditional sweets with a tour and tasting at a small local workshop.
