Tour Overview

Join us for one of the most beautiful celebrations of wildlife and untouched waterways in Africa, for a safari experience like no other! The lodge for your stay is situated on the banks of the Boteti River, a tributary originating in the core of the Okavango Delta. You can enjoy unlimited access to the Boteti River either by simply enjoying a refreshing drink and viewing the hippo, crocodiles or abundant birdlife from the deck, OR by a guided Mokoro (traditional dug out canoe) excursion OR motorboat cruise down the river. A variety of additional activities are offered from the Lodge. These will include additional Mokoro Safaris, scenic flights over the Okavango Delta and full day game drives in Moremi or Khwai Reserve areas. Please note that the Okavango Delta and Boteti River is a high-risk malaria area and you should speak to a medical professional regarding prophylaxis treatment for your trip.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Visit to Xobe Village incl. Scenic Drive

You will be picked up at Maun airport where you will meet your guide before leaving on your 20-minute drive to your tented lodge situated on the banks of the Boteti River. After a brief check-in upon arriving at the lodge, you will be explained your safari activities over a refreshing complimentary drink. Depending on your arrival time, you may have an opportunity for a quick lunch or a dip in the pool while exploring the lodge’s natural surroundings before you will leave on an amazing Scenic Drive including a visit to Xobe Village. After the Xobe Village visit, you will have some time to freshen up and then join us around the open fire. You can take in the magnificent scenery around you while enjoying a delicious and traditionally prepared meal and glass of wine, while listening to the calls of the night.

Day 2: Full Day Mokoro OR Moremi Safari (guest’s preference)

A full day mokoro safari in the Okavango Delta including a nature walk OR a full day open vehicle safari in the Moremi/Khwai Game Reserves. Option 1: Your Mokoro safari will begin as you head out into the many reed channels of the Okavango Delta. A stop will be made on one of the many islands to enjoy your packed lunch before heading on a nature walk. After some relaxing time, you will continue your adventure exploring more of these unlimited channels and choosing to stop at any other islands as you may please. Returning at 16:00pm. Option 2: Your experienced game ranger will teach you about all aspects of nature and interpret wildlife behavior to you in a unique way. A packed lunch will be served in style by your guide at one of the beautiful rest camps along the way. Picnic snacks and refreshments are included in both safari activities. After your return, your long day on safari will end typically with drinks of your choice on the wooden followed by dinner typically in the open Boma.

Day 3: Morning Relaxation and Departure

Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast in a more relaxed fashion this morning, taking in the breathtaking surroundings one last time before you prepare for checkout and transfer to Maun. The friendly lodge staff will bid you farewell before a transfer back to Maun airport or your choice of drop off point within Maun. This is the end of your tour.
