Itinerary

Together with the church they form the ensemble designed by Nicolau Nasoni. We will learn about his life and the important legacy of Nasoni who, although Italian, worked mainly in Portugal and was a key figure in the Portuguese Baroque and Rococo periods.

The "Igreja dos Carmelitas" together with its convent, are works of the 17th century. This church, which can be confused as one, was not built by chance. The "Igreja dos Carmelitas" was built for the nuns and then the "Igreja do Carmo" was built for the monks, both of the same order, giving rise to these twin churches.
