Tour Overview

Your Glamping Safari experience include and evening half day safari [ shared] to the Udawalawe Park and a comfortable private glamping tent with an ensuite bathroom , bordering the Udawalwe Park. [Dinner & Breakfast included] You can experience authentic fully-serviced, mobile, tented safari camping, with its many comforts. An array of delicious local food coupled together with a BBQ dinner around the warm campfire under the stars is bound to exhilarate you. You will enjoy our evening free tea service offered just after the safari. The Udawalawe National Park is the only place in the world where an elephant sighting is guaranteed on every game drive. There are plenty of birds and animal species you can see by doing a walk in the premises itself or along the border. You can do this on your own or with a resident guide.

  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • Children below 6 years, sharing the parents’ tent, stay free. Children between 6 and 12, who share parents’ tent, will be charged 50%.
  • No age restrictions for children. Baby cots are available.
  • Personal effects for warm, windy, rainy conditions should be carried by clients
  • Insect repellent, sunscreen etc. are recommended
  • Sandals or walking shoes are recommended

Pickup

We will meet you at the park entrance at 2.30pm and start the safari. Finishing the safari we drive to the Glamping Site in the same jeep. - Time zone: Asia/Colombo

 Important • The pickup time from the pickup point is 12.30 p.m.; late or early arrivals may result in inconveniences. • Mahoora Camping’s meal basis is on full board, from lunch on the Day 1 to breakfast on Day 2. This is a standard procedure and will remain the same for all our guests. • Lunch is served at the campsite; it is an experience by itself (any change to this will be specifically advised by our staff). • There should be enough time to do an evening safari/activity. Guests should leave the campsite the latest by 2.30 p.m. for the afternoon safari after having lunch. The evening safari starts at 2.30 p.m. and the morning safari starts at 5.30 a.m. • In case you get delayed due to unavoidable circumstances or for help on how to get to the location, please call the contact person early. • Personal effects for warm, windy, rainy conditions should be carried by clients • Insect repellent, sunscreen etc. are recommended • Sandals or walking shoes are recommended • Please refrain from making casual donations to anyone. If you like to tip, please hand it over to the Team Leader at the camp. He will distribute it among the staff • Please do not buy any wildlife-related products from anyone, as it is illegal and against our sustainable policies

Day 1: We will meet you at the Udawalawe Park entrance and take you on an amazing evening safari in to the park
Located on the boundary of Sri Lanka's wet and dry zones, Udawalawe National Park is one of the best places in the world to see wild elephants. With approximately 400 elephants residing within the area of 31,000 hectares, it is not unusual to see big herds gathering to feed and bathe by the waterholes. In addition to this main attraction, Udawalawe is home to many water buffalo, water monitor lizards, sambar deer, and monkeys. The bird enthusiasts shall be in their own winged paradise with not only the variety but the number of bird species in the park. Udawalawe, with its fascinating wildlife, history, and culture, offers an array of historical sites and natural wonders, guaranteed to satisfy even the most seasoned traveler.
