  • Maximum luggage is 22 pounds (10 kg). You can leave your large luggages at Inkaterra main office in Puerto Maldonado.

  • Note: you will be transferred to the airport on the 3rd day after breakfast. Please make departure flight arrangements accordingly
  • Important: It is recommended for your arrival flight to be in the morning and your departure flight to leave in the afternoon. Please plan accordingly.
  • Yellow Fever: Vaccination is highly recommended (not mandatory) for travel to Amazonia and the Southern Amazon basin. The shot should be given at least 10 days before your arrival and at 10-year intervals if you decide to stay.

Note: Your program is confirmed. Please provide your flight information, full legal name, passport number, date of birth, and nationality as soon as possible. Not providing your information may result in cancellation of your tour. Please present your printed voucher to the representative upon arrival. In case you have an emergency or need extra information regarding your service, you may call our 24 hours department at +511 6101900 (ext 255 or 279). Important: The program includes roundtrip transfer from Puerto Maldonado airport to your Lodge and viceversa in Puerto Maldonado. Kindly notice that as the service is provided in group tours, you must arrive at a proper time. Please book the first flights from Lima or Cusco to Puerto Maldonado that leave before noon and for the flights from Puerto Maldonado to Lima flights that leave after noon. If at the end of your program you decide to stay in Puerto Maldonado, please send your hotel information so that we know where to drop you off. Itinerary

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica
Arrival in the city of Puerto Maldonado, assistance and information necessary for the stay. Next, we will head to the lodge. On the way, we will see beautiful scenery and our guide will be alert for some animal species when sneaking to show them to you. Arrival and accommodation in the lodge. Rest of the afternoon free to choose from the diversity of tours made in Reserva Amazonica. For the first day, we recommend entering the rainforest through a guided tour along the trail system in the natural area of the Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica, where we will discover the wonderful Amazon Basin. At night, we suggest the "River at Night" excursion, sailing down the Madre de Dios River, we will witness the transformation from a diurnal to a nocturnal world: birds and other diurnal animals give way to species especially adapted to night. After dinner, we can attend the talk about the experience of living in the rainforest. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Lake Sandoval and Inkaterra Canopy Walkway
In the morning, we will make the trip to Sandoval Lake, a paradise on earth where various species of birds and monkeys live together. At the lake, we can observe river otters, caimans, piranhas and giant paiches. After lunch, we recommend visiting the Canopy Inkaterra. We will go on a hike to the rainforest across a network of bridges linking eight observation platforms. We can extend the tour to see the sunset in one of the towers. After climbing down the Canopy, we will go on the "Anaconda Hike" along 200 meters of wooden bridges over the Aguajales swamps. In this lush ecosystem, we will observe different species of amphibians, birds, mammals and wild rainforest flora. In addition, it is possible to observe snakes on these wetlands. At night, we will attend the presentation on Nature at the Eco Center. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica – Puerto Maldonado
Enjoy a full breakfast before departure. A 45-minute return trip by boat on the Madre de Dios River takes you to Puerto Maldonado, where you may visit the Butterfly House. Peru boasts the greatest variety of butterflies in the world, with 3,700 known species. Many of these can be seen at the Butterfly House, a showcase for the variety, beauty and adaptability of these fascinating insects. At the coordinated time, transfer to the airport to board our departure flight.
