Day 1: Airport to Negombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka upon arrival at Colombo Bandaranayake international Airport you will be met by your guide for a private transport to your hotel in Negombo (15km/approx. 30m) The Negombo has developed in to bustling modern town with a handful of reminders of its colonial past one a trading port for the Dutch and British.

Day 2: Negombo to Habarana
This morning you will leave your hotel after breakfast and drive to the 'Cultural triangle' Commonly revered to as the ' Cultural Triangle' the Central plains area boast's ruined. temples and ancient cities combined with national park's and glistening reservoirs UNESCO world heritage sites include the striking rock fortress of Sigiriya, Dambull's Royal rock temple and crumbling archaeological treasures of Polonnaruwa. The stunning setting and historic interest means a stay in this region is sure to be a highlight of any trip it Sri Lanka.

Day 3: Habarana to Polonnaruwa
This medieval city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Rose to fame as the capital (10th -12th Century AD) after the decline of Anuradhapura. The entire landscape of the region is punctuated by huge man-made reservoirs, the most famous of which is the Parakrama Samudra or the Sea of Parakrama, Larger in size than the Colombo harbour. Highlights are the Royal Palace complex including the Kings Place and Audience Hall, The quadrangle with its concentration of ancient heritage and the spetacular Gal Vihare complex of four massive images of the Buddha, cut from a single slab of granite - a highlight of ancient Sri Lankan rock carving. Some of the best examples of the Hindu influence - The temples of Shiva, intricate statues of Hindu Gods, fascination Buddhist temples, the Lankatileka and Watadage, The Galptha, The Lotus bath, The Kiri Vihare Dagoba and the remains of a former Temple of the tooth are other impressive sights.

Day 4: Habarana to Kandy
This morning you will depart your hotel after breakfast and visit the Dambulla Cave Temples before continuing to Kandy (10km / approx. 3 - 3.5 hours) The Dambulla Cave Temples are another UNESCO World Heritage Site, dating back to the 1st century BC. This amazing complex of 5 caves was first used as a refuge by an ancient king who upon regaining his throne, commissioned magnificent carved images within the living rock. later kings made further improvements and the caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is a colossal figure spanning 15 meters. This temple complex is a perfect location to view the evolution of ancient Sri Lankan art and is an important historical site due to the Amalagamation of the material used from many eras. The cave temples are reached by a one hour climb to the top of a sloping rock.

Day 5: Kandy to Ella
Kandy is Sri Lanka's second largest city and was the capital of the last Sinhalese Kingdom. It boasts a scenic setting around a large lake, surrounded by green hills. Most famously Kandy is home to the Temple of the Sacred tooth relic, which is believed to house Buddha's tooth. Throngs of pilgrims flock from all over Sri Lanka to catch a glimpse of the gold casket which contains this sacred relic.
