From the moment you enter the Macorix House of Rum, you are invaded by the aroma emanating from the barrels where rum is being distilled. Here you get the opportunity to learn about the history and characteristics of affine rum and its venerable production process.

A truly wonderful experience that offers the chance to sample and buy a variety of organic Dominican chocolates and chocolate products, along with learning about how it's cultivated and produced.

If you are in Puerto Plata, it is almost an obligation to visit the Amber Museum. This museum was founded in 1982 and boasts one of the best collections of this precious mineral inside its Victorian-style building. Visitors can learn about its history and view samples of the highly-prized mineral resin.
