This is the most challenging day as you conquer the trek's highest point, the Salkantay Pass (4,630 m / 15,190 ft). It'll take 4 hours to reach the top, but you will be rewarded by the stunning views of Salkantay Mountain. You’ll also be able to see the surrounding peaks and have plenty of time for photoshoots. Later, you'll walk downhill to the green borders of the Cloud Forest and experience the drastic climate change between the snow peaks and the edge of the jungle. After a midway lunch, end this day at the next Campsite in Chaullay for another great dinner and sleep in the Andean Huts.

After lunch in La Playa, you’ll stop at a nearby farm. You’ll learn all about coffee, participate with the locals on harvest, and grind your grains for a cup. After the experience, a short drive takes you to Hidroelectrica train station. You can either continue the 3-hour scenic hike on the rail tracks along the Urubamba River or take the train to Aguas Calientes for an extra fee. You'll check in to your hotel or simply explore the town. Tonight, you'll eat dinner at a restaurant and rest early to wake up before dawn tomorrow.
