Pula Arena is this city most important monument. It was build in the 1st century AD and it held gladiator games and is belived that arena could held about 20.000 spectators.
Once an imposing entrance to the city and nowadays arches above the path to reach Archeological museum and to the castle.
In 1950' when the park was established this place was one of the most important city intersections , it still is known as one specially among young people who geathers here in the evening.
This square is situated just below the central hill and it still presents the main square in the city. This was centre of city life in Roman times already and to be fair, even today it is a legislative and administrative centre of the city.
Here we will get to know more about Temple of Augustus and as well about municipality of Pula, that holds its headquarters here.
Square gets famous by Italian poet Dante Alighieri.
Erected in 1 century by important Sergi family who honoured their family members this memorable sight was constructed in Corinthian style.
Today gates and the square beside play an important role in culture of Pula as there are numerous theatrical, musical and other performances taking place here.
Gate of Hercules were build in Roman times. They are located between two medieval towers. Right through this gates and we end up our tour with local dessert.
