Tour Overview

Kilkenny is known as the Marble city because of its distinctive black marble. We start this tour at Kilkenny Castle which was founded after the Norman conquest of Ireland. The castle has been rebuilt to suit the needs of its inhabitants. Kilkenny Castle was founded after the Norman conquest of Ireland. The castle has been rebuilt to suit the needs of its inhabitants. This grand country house surrounded by parkland with mature trees, woodlands and a terraced rose garden amongst other is a Victorian remodelling of the thirteenth century defensive Castle. Kyteler’s Inn is a public house located in the heart of medieval Kilkenny. It dates back to 1263 and it combines a rich heritage with 21st century amenities

Butter Slip is the most picturesque of Kilkenny’s narrow medieval corridors. It dates to the early 17th century and it runs underneath two houses, keep in mind this street was dark and cool ideal for storing and selling butter.
