Tour Overview

Your guide will already have an update of any exciting or special sightings in the area. Most guide are from the Bayei tribal people who many believe to be the first inhabitants of the Okavango Delta, “people of the Delta” so to speak. You will learn about all aspects of this magical inland oasis from the tiniest of creatures, beautiful reed frogs and big 5 mammal species along the water edge. Your guide will also interpret nature to you in a unique manner and show you traditional and medicinal uses of wild plants in the Delta.

Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up in Maun
Departing at 06:00am.You will be picked up early morning from any surrounding Lodges or resorts in the Maun area and transferred to the closest boat station (Dependent on rainfall and time of year) where you will meet you Mokoro guide and poler. Your Mokoro safari will begin as you head out into the many reed channels of the Okavango Delta. After a peaceful trip in your Mokoro you will arrive at your campsite on Boro Island situated in the heart of southern Okavango delta. “Rustic Luxury” would be the best way to describe this campsites layout. Enjoy a freshly prepared traditional lunch after settling to your surroundings before heading out for a nature walk which will return just before sunset. Returning to a cozy looking lantern lit camp surrounding a campfire. Feast, revel and enjoy the evening ahead as you tuck into a delicious dinner.

Day 2: Full Day in the Delta
An early morning start where you kick start day along with the many birdcalls, sipping on some tea or coffee before heading out on a 2 hour nature walk. Upon returning you will enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading out on your Morning Mokoro safari. Once returning from your morning Mokoro safari you will have the afternoon to rest during the heat of the day and have a light lunch whenever you prefer to. An siesta will set eh tone before heading out on your choice of a Sunset Mokor Safari or Sunset Bush Walk before returning back to camp.

Day 3: Returning to Maun
An early morning start where you kick start day along with the many birdcalls, sipping on some tea or coffee before heading out on a 2 hour nature walk. Upon returning you will enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading out on your Morning Mokoro safari, which eventually makes its way back to the boat station where your transfer vehicle would be waiting. Returning at about 12:00pm.
