Day 2: Orkhon Waterfall
Day 2 We will drive to Orkhon Waterfall, also known as Ulaan Tsutgalan, after breakfast and experience its beauty. A 22m deep gorge is where you can find the base of the canyon, which is lined with pine trees and approximately 25m below the waterfall. About 20.000 years ago, the waterfall was created by earthquakes and later merged with volcanic eruptions. It is not possible for the water to function all year round and it will only start flowing again after a good summer rain. The rocky surface of the Orkhon River in Mongolia makes it difficult to access the road that leads to the waterfall, which is not easily accessible due to its protected status as an Orhon Valley National Park since 2006. There are many scenic and untouched natural wonders that provide good options for hiking and horse riding. The valley is referred to as the place where Nomadic culture thrives. Yak herders are a frequent group of nomads.
