Tour Overview

Our two-day Tambopata Amazon Tour is a custom itinerary that includes a native tour guide and provides an insight of living in the Tambopata rainforest. Puerto Maldonado is the entry point to the Tambopata National Reserve. There are daily flights to Puerto Maldonado from Lima and Cusco, Peru's principal cities. The Peruvian Amazon Jungle is home to a diverse range of vegetation and wildlife. The Macaw Clay Lick, the world's biggest, is one of the must-see sites. Hundreds of vividly colorful macaws, parrots, and parakeets flock here to consume the cliff's clay. The clay here has a unique mineral concentration that aids in the removal of poisons from the birds' bodies.
