  • B&Bs tend to be located on the outskirts of towns and you should be prepared for a 20-30 minute walk to local facilities like pubs and restaurants. If you have difficulty with stairs, please mention it to us as lifts will not be available in this type of property.
  • *We're sorry but due to the re-development of Calanais Standing Stones for preservation of the site, we will not be able to visit this location until Spring 2026. Instead, we will spend extra time exploring the beaches on the west of the island. We apologise for the inconvenience.
  • * If your tour departs between 28th April and 26th May 2025, you will be able to see Arnol Blackhouse only from the outside due to essential maintenance.

Itinerary

Day 1: Edinburgh - Dunkeld - Loch Ness - Ullapool
Check in at least 15 mins in advance at Gate J & K, Edinburgh Bus Station and meet with your driver guide for this tour.

Overnight in Ullapool.

Day 2: Ullapool - Stornoway
First on the agenda today is a ferry journey across the sea. This two and a half-hour boat trip takes you through the Summer Isles to Stornoway, the main town of the Western Isles. But don’t spend your time snoozing and reading as you sail across the ocean; because if you look out to sea, you may spot dolphins and whales. Once you’ve arrived on Lewis and Harris, you head to the North West coast. Your driver-guide will make the most of what weather you’ve been blessed with and take you through traditional crofting towns and seaside ports.

Day 3: Today, you immerse yourself in the history and landscapes of this wild island.
Head to Arnol Blackhouse. Here, you can experience what traditional farming life was like in these remote reaches without getting your hands too dirty.

Day 4: Stornoway - Isle of Harris - Luskentyre - Portree
Harris boasts the highest mountains in the Outer Hebrides and one of the most beautiful white-sandy beaches in Britain, Luskentyre. Walk along this phenomenal beach and feel like you’re in the Scottish Maldives.

Day 5: Flexible day touring around the Isle of Skye
You may travel to the Quiraing mountain pass and enjoy a spectacular walk, venture to Kilt Rock and see a gigantic waterfall, or take a boat trip to the lesser-known Loch Coruisk. After you’ve enjoyed the sights of Skye, you have your final evening in Portree. There are plenty of fabulous seafood restaurants to celebrate a fine day of exploring.

Day 6: Portree - Eilean Donan Castle - Edinburgh
Once you’ve crossed the Skye Bridge, you get a chance to see Eilean Donan Castle. This classic combination of a sturdy-stone fortification perched upon a loch is about as Scottish a view as you can get. Just ensure you’ve got some room left on your camera to take photos.
