On the excursion, there is a local Faroese guide providing insides to local stories, fantastical viewpoints, and historic buildings. Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Vagar Airport
Arrive at Vágar Airport and transfer to the capital of Tórshavn, Discover a small and cosy capital! Tórshavn is one of the world’s smallest capitals, beautifully situated at the foot of the surrounding mountains and with a panoramic view of the island of Nólsoy.

Day 2: Vágar Island Highlights
Picked up at your hotel in Tórshavn. From there you can sit down and relax while the local tour guide happily shares knowledge about the beautiful sights you see along the journey. On the tour, we will stop to see sights such places as Leitisvatn, Bøur, Tindhólmur, Drangarnir, and the most popular waterfall of them all, Múlafossur. The tour starts with a 45-minute drive to Sørvágur. From there we will drive to the village of Bøur, often referred to as the village in the Faroe Islands with the best view. We will take a stroll through the picturesque village and hear some history. From Bøur you will see the free-standing rocks named Dranganir and the amazing islet of Tindhólmur. After Bøur we will drive through the only tunnel on the island to the distant and previously very isolated village of Gásadalur. Here we will take a walk to the most photographed waterfall in the Faroes, Múlafossur. From Gásadalur we will drive past Leitisvatn, the largest freshwater lake on the islands.

Day 3: Golden Circle Classic
See places like Saksun, Tjørnuvík, Gjógv, Risin & Kellingin and Fossá in one day. This is a day you will never forget. After driving over the old mountain road out of Tórshavn we will come to the unique settlement of Saksun. Next, we will head to Tjørnuvík. The route will take us through the valley from Saksun with ever-changing scenery along the Dalsá river with many small waterfalls. Before reaching Tjørnuvík we will stop by Fossá waterfall, which is the tallest waterfall in the Faroe Islands. Tjørnuvík is the northernmost settlement on Streymoy island and is situated in an isolated inlet with towering mountains and a beautiful black sand beach. From the beach there is a fantastic view of the sea stacks Risin & Kellingin (The Giant and the Hag). Upon arrival to Eysturoy island, we will experience the view from the road beneath Slættaratindur, the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands. From there picturesque Gjógv on the northernmost tip of Eysturoy island.

Day 4: Mykines – The Puffin Paradise With A Local Guide
Embark on a whole day guided tour of the island Mykines. When we take our leave from Tórshavn, you can sit back and relax during the 45 minute drive to Sørvágur’ harbour, from where you board the charming ferry M/F Jósup. The sailing time is approx. 45 minutes. On top of the harbour stairs you will meet your local guide, who leads you along the steep path to the only village on the island. From there you get to experience Mykines and get up close to the adorable puffin colonies all along the walking path. The local guide will indulge you with local stories, and give you plenty of time to experience the extraordinary nature of the island. When you are back in the village of Mykines, you have the opportunity to grab a hot cup of coffee at a local café. On the harbour of Sørvágur a bus will be waiting for you, and drive you back to your hotel in Tórshavn.

Day 5: Suðuroy – The Untouched Pearl
We depart from Tórshavn on the ferry M/F Smyril. This is the largest inland ferry in the Faroes. The sailing time is two hours to the southernmost island of Suðuroy. The journey sails past the islands of Sandoy, Stóri Dímun (with two families living on it), and the uninhabited Lítli Dímun. Upon arrival in Suðuroy, we start by driving to the village of Tvøroyri. After departing Tvøroyri we drive to the village of Hvalba. From there the scenic route takes us to the Northernmost village on Suðuroy named Sandvík. After spending some time in Sandvík we drive south to a village called Fámjin. The journey goes all the way to the Southernmost village of Sumba. Along the way, we will pass the villages of Vágur and Lopra. Later we take another route back from Sumba. This drive takes us past stunning cliffs and the scenic and historic villages of Porkeri and Hov. After this, we head back to the ferry Smyril and the sail back to Tórshavn (Note: Some waiting time is to be expected for the ferry!)

Day 6: Northern Islands Highlights
A whole days guided tour visiting the islands of Streymoy, Eysturoy, Borðoy, Kalsoy and Kunoy. Relax and listen to the stories and legends from the local tour guide. Sailing on a small ferry to the beautiful Kalsoy island, where we will visit Trøllanes, Mikladalur and Syðradalur. Mikladalur the home to the famous Seal Woman statue and Syðradalur offers a beautiful Memorial to locals who have died at sea. We will board the ferry for Kalsoy in Klaksvík, the second-most populous city in the Faroes, and then we visit the quiet Kunoy and stunning Viðoy. There we will see a few landmarks and enjoy some stunning scenery. This is sure to be a day you will not forget anytime soon. NOTE: You can add the hiking to Kallur Lighthouse in this booking. In case you choose this you will miss the visit to the Seal Woman in Mikladalur.

Day 7: Vestmanna – Sea cliffs with birds
We leave Tórshavn and head northwest for Vestmanna, from where the Vestmanna Bird Cliffs Boat Tour departs. On the way we will see Leynar and the hand-built salmon ladder, and a rare Faroese beach, furthermore we will explore the viking remains in Kvívík. Afterwards we set sail from the harbour of Vestmanna, from where the boat sails towards Vestmannabjørgini, and the caves on the northern side of streymoy. If the weather allows it, we sail through the narrow straits into deep caves. We observe the more than 600 meter high cliff walls where thousands of seabirds are breeding, and yes, even puffins!
