Pickup

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your tour, your guide will be holding a green Walks sign. This tour meets at Piazzale Flaminio, 15, 00196 Roma RM, in front of the McDonald's Restaurant on the corner of the square. - Time zone: Europe/Rome

- Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour start time for check-in. Out of courtesy to other guests, we’re unable to wait for latecomers. No refunds can be provided for late arrivals or no-shows. - Luggage and/or strollers are not allowed on this tour as there is no extra storage space on the vehicle. - If you are traveling with a young child and need a car seat, please make sure to email our Guest Experience team at info@takewalks.com at the time of your booking for proper arrangements. - Your guide will provide lunch recommendations once you reach the Amalfi coast for lunch on your own (not included in the tour price). - We encourage a swim on the beach during your free time should the weather be nice. Itinerary

Stop 1: 3.5 hours

Your adventure begins in central Rome, where you'll meet your tour leader and board a private, air-conditioned bus. As you settle in for the scenic drive, sit back and relax—your guide and driver will handle all the details as you journey toward the ruins of Pompeii.

Stop 2: 2.5 hours

If you choose the 6.15 am departure you gain early entry (6:15am tour only) into the ancient ruins of Pompeii. You’ll have the unique opportunity to explore this once-thriving Roman city, perfectly preserved by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, without the crowds for a more peaceful experience. With an expert archaeologist as your guide, you’ll walk the same streets that Romans once did, peeking into shops, temples, and even a brothel—each frozen in time.

Stop 3: 0.5 hours

If you select the 6:15am tour at time of booking, you’ll also enjoy rare access to the Villa of Mysteries, one of the most beautiful and richest villas in Pompeii. Buried under ash for nearly 2,000 years, this miraculously preserved home is filled with cryptic frescoes depicting Dionysian rituals.

Stop 4: 1 hours

Departing Pompeii, it’s back onto the airconditioned bus for one of the most unforgettable drives of your life soaking up the panoramic vistas of the Amalfi coast. It won’t take long for you to see why this is considered Italy’s most scenic drive (although certainly not the easiest to navigate—you’ll be glad you have a professional driver!).

Stop 5: 2 hours

Explore the charming town of Sorrento with stunning beaches and views of Mount Vesuvius. Here, you’ll have free time to wander the town’s vibrant streets at your own pace. Visit its stunning boutiques, dine on fresh seafood, or pick up handmade ceramics and other crafts.

Stop 6: 3.5 hours

After an unforgettable day of history, beauty, and relaxation, you’ll board for a relaxing journey back to Rome. Reflect on the stunning sights of Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast, and Sorrento, all while relaxing in comfort as your guide ensures your smooth return to the city.
