Itinerary

Day 1: Begin of the Trip
The journey begins when we pick you up in Manaus. We head to Ceasa Port, where we board a speedboat, with a first stop along the Rio Negro River to the Meeting of the Waters. The trip will continue with a 1-hour car drive to a small village called Cachoeira do Castanho. From the Village, you’ll continue by speedboat on a 20to 30 -30-minute ride (depending on the level of the waters during your visit) to Jacareubau Creek to the floating deck to get in the water to interact with the Pick River dolphins with river dolphins, after we will continue by boat to the other side of the river to visit the Tatuyos indigenous village where you will participate in the ritual welcome dance and learn more about there culture. back to the Boat and navigate up the Rio negro for about 1 hour to the Lodge. Upon arriving at the lodge at 12:30 pm, you will be welcomed with refreshments as your accommodations are prepared.

Tapiri Rio Negro Lodge is based on private rooms, with air conditioning and a private bathroom with mosquito nets.

Lunch: Prepared with regional fresh fish, chicken, beef, beans, salads, rice, vegetables and fruits

Dinner: Prepared with regional fresh fish, chicken, beef, beans, salads, rice, vegetables and fruits.

Day 2: Jungle trip
Breakfast is served at 7:00 am at the lodge. From 8:00 am to 11:30 am, we will be trekking through the jungle. Your guide will share knowledge about medicinal plants along our walk, as well as all of the insects and spiders that call it home. At noon, we’ll head back to the lodge for lunch. At 3:00 pm, the group will depart to visit the archipelago of Anavilhanas by boat. The group will explore the area looking for some wildlife found in that region (from February to August), and then continue this trip by walking in the jungle, as it is the dry season. On the way back to the lodge, there will be a stop to see the sunset. Afterward, the group will return to the lodge, where dinner will be served. After dinner, you depart again by motorized canoe in search of the elusive Cayman. Your jungle guide will scoop one up, allowing you to see it up close before carefully releasing it into its natural habitat once again!

Day 3: Jungle trip
After breakfast, (8 am-11 am), the group will visit the local community and learn more about their culture, by living among the Negro River, during the visit there is an opportunity to buy some handcraft made by the locals with a natural intern that they got from the Amazon Jungle. Back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch the group leaves by boat to explore the small creeks and channels to spot some wildlife, during the trip, there is an opportunity to go swimming in the river ( during the dry season there are many beaches that the group can stop to go swimming, back to the lodge.

Day 4: Jungle trip
From 5:30 am to 6:30 am, you’ll board a small canoe to witness the awakening of nature as the day breaks and the silence is slowly broken by the songbirds and creatures that call this area home. After breakfast at 08:00 am, we will begin our journey back to Manaus, with an estimated arrival time of 11:00 am. Your tour will conclude at either your hotel or the airport.
