In every September nomadic clans from the Niger region come together in the middle of the country for massive celebrations comprising of feasts, camel races, markets, and Male Beauty contests.  The celebrations are termed as Gerewol festival, and is the largest in the region

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Niamey
Arrival in Niamey, transfer to your hotel for overnight; Ronier Hotel.

Overnight at Ronier Hotel.

Day 2: Niamey – Konni
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Birmin Konni and Tahoua. On your visit, you will have several stops for a spectacular photo opportunity.

Day 3: Tahoua – Konni – Abalak (Gerewol Site)
Drive to Abalak for a Gerewol festival. It is an annual courtship ritual competition among the Wodaabe Fula people. Young men make up in traditional painting and ornamentation. They gather in formations to dance and sing vying for the attention of marriageable young women

Today, we travel from Abalak to Agadez. We arrive in the late afternoon

Visit the ancient city of Agadez including the Camel market, handy craft, sultan’s palace, and the famous mosque of Agadez

After breakfast, visit the historic Centre- Konni, which was a small pre-colonial Hausa state. Visit the big market

Early morning we visit the giraffes in their natural before continuing to Niamey for your onward flight
