The park is named for the magical deep blue color of its tops, the Cerro Azul Meámbar National Park stands as a guardian next to Lake Yojoa.
Declared a national park since 1987, it has an area of 312 square kilometers and its peaks rise to 2,080 meters above sea level. Categorized as a cloud forest, it is rare to see it without its white mist crowns. It has a wide diversity of flora and fauna being a national pride.
This reservoir is a place where, thanks to the accumulation of water, fauna and flora have prospered, a place that is worth visiting as well as blue water sites that exist in its surroundings.
