Explore the Senegambia region at your own pace with your personal guide in a private vehicle for 4 days. An opportunity to deep oneself into the Senegambia's Fauna & Flora, History and most importantly culture & tradition of its amazing inhabitant. Book this tour to have a true experience of the Senegambia in just 4 days. However, the tour package is based on 2 sharing the room. If it is single occupancy, there will be a surcharge for single supplement. If you require a visa or entry clearance, please acquire them before hand for both Senegal (Single entry visa) and The Gambia (Multiple entry visa or be ready to pay for another visa at land border when coming back into the Gambia. Approx. $75.00 per visa) . An optional Lion Walk of about 30mins if available for those who dare to take part (paid locally approx. $41.00 per person). Please bring along your passport and yellow fever certificate along. The ferry schedule and condition is beyond my control as it is a public ferry

Itinerary

Day 1: Safari at Fathala Resrve + Optional Lion Walk
06.30 – After breakfast we drive to the Banjul ferry to catch up the next ferry to Barra, we will continue our journey towards the borders for immigration formalities (Please bring passport and yellow fever certificates along). Be welcomed into the Fathala Nature Reserve currently 2000 acres of a natural environment which many African Wildlife have now made their home. On our contained vehicles, we are able to follow the animal tracks through the wilderness to spot some of the species that roam the area. In just a day, it is possible to spot Giraffes, Rhinos, Giant Elands, Zebras , Antelopes, Pythons, Buffaloes to mention only a few – How lucky will you be? A great chance to take memories of Africa home – don’t go without your cameras – this may be your only chance to take some amazing pictures! During the day we will have Lunch in the wild. Drinks are available to buy during the day at the park. You will learn the history of the area and the great plans they have for the future. Go on be a part of Africa that you will remember forever! A optional Lion Walk of about 30mins will be available for those who dare to take part at extra cost of approximately €35.00 per person. From Fathala, we drive to Keur Saloum Hotel.for relaxation and evening navigation of the Saloum Delta to visit the bird dormitory. Dinner and overnight at the hotel .

Day 2: Janjangbureh
07.00am - After breakfast, we drive to cross the border once more back to the Gambia and continue through North Bank to visit the Wassu Stone Circles, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The area (Wassu Stone Circles) is believed to be an ancient ceremonial (burial) mound of Kings and chiefs in ancient times over 1,200 years old and has been dated to be between 750-1000 AD. There are few circles across the Senegambia region. They are similar to and share some aspect of history with other stone circles across Europe. We drive to Kuntaur to board our local river craft to explore the River Gambia, a 2-3hrs relaxing cruise past lush forest islands. Be on the lookout for Hippos, Crocodiles, Baboons, Monkeys, colourful birds and Chimpanzees. We will be cruising around River Gambia National Park (RGNP) a worthwhile exploration you should not miss while in the Gambia. Our park ranger who will join us onboard, will guide us through the park in search of the rare Chimpanzees, we will receive an insight of the park and how it is managed before returning back to Kuntaur for our evening drive to Janjangbureh. (Please note; Chimpanzees are kept on islands and visitors are only allowed to sail around the islands) Dinner and overnight at Baobolong Annex

Day 3: Sindola
After breakfast, we will set off for a walking tour of the old town, with visits to The Governor’s House, Freedom Tree, the vibrant market and Kankurang Center. Afterwards we set off for the return journey, stopping at the village school and possibly at a Lumo Market en route to Sindola Safari Lodge. After relaxation, dinner and overnight will be at the hotel

Day 4: Bijilo
Ndemban offers guests the opportunity to dive deep into local life and immerse themselves into the rhythm of life of this Jola village to experience daily life activities: you will take a guided walk of the village to visit the alkalo, bakery, blacksmith; fortuneteller; and community gardens; and join the women’s group for cooking, dancing soap making & tie and die making during the day. Ndemban has a beautiful and characterful community eating and relaxation/restaurant area right by the creek where you will enjoy refreshments and meals cooked by the local women’s group, and relax during the heat of the day in the comfortable seating arrangements. Over night at your coastal hotel
