Itinerary

Stop 1:

This self-guided audio tour takes place in Poznan's Cathedral Island. You'll hear about the area while you walk and take in some of its many sights.

Stop 2:

The tour starts in front of the scale model of the Island. You'll hear a bit about the island, and how VoiceMap works before you get going.

Stop 3:

The tour passes by the Church of Our Lady in Summo. You'll hear about the church including how underneath it there's a vast relic of Mieszko's palace and palace chapel.

Stop 4:

The tour passes by the oldest Polish cathedral, Poznan Cathedral. You'll learn about the cathedral while you walk.

Stop 5:

The tour passes by the Archbishop's Palace. You'll hear about the building and its many iterations while you walk.

The tour takes you over the Jordan Bridge. You'll hear how the bridge was built, destroyed and rebuilt to finally reconnect Cathedral Island and Śródka District.

The tour takes you through the Śródka District which at one stage, was independent from the rest of Poland.

The tour passes by the Srodka mural which is one of the first wall paintings of this type in Poland.

The tour passes by Saint Margaret Church. You'll hear about the church while you walk.

Stop 10:

The tour passes by Brama Poznania. Porta Posnania Heritage Center is a state-of-the-art museum created in 2014 to show the fascinating issues connected with the areas of Cathedral Island and Śródka District.

Stop 11:

The tour passes by the Cathedral Lock, a 19th-century element of the Prussian fortification system.

Stop 12:

The tour passes by the Genius Loci. This modern museum shows not only the relics of the one thousand-year-old borough's walls but also 3D immersive films

Stop 13:

The tour ends in front of the archdiocese Museum in Poznan. This place played an important role not only in the city but in the whole country from the 1500s until the 1700s.
