Tour Overview

Deep in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest, surrounded by green, in a womb like space, the lungs of the planet are calling your name. The Tucan Eco Lodge, is at one of the newest lodges in the reserve. Right on the Cuyabeno river, it is around 30 Kilometers downstream from the entrance of the park In the center of the reserve.

Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1 Slow Journey to Reserve Begins
Get ready for your overnight trip into the Rainforest. Our meeting is in the Secret Garden Hostel, head over to the rooftop to enjoy a meal or a drink and take in the view before the overnight bus to the Cuyabeno Reserve. Bus departs 11.30pm from the Secret Garden Hostel
Day 2: Day 1 - OFFICIALLY DAY 1 in the RAINFOREST
The adventure begins at 11:00 AM at the entrance to the Cuyabeno reserve, with a canoe trip down the river to our lodge (3 hours exploring the river looking for monkeys, birds, etc.). Lunch and time for relax. In the afternoon you will explore the river and lagoons looking for more wild life, swim and enjoy the sunset. At night you will do a canoe expedition in search of caimans. Dinner. For all our guests interested in knowing more about the amazon rainforest, every evening your naturalist guide will give different lectures like “Culture and communities, flora, fauna and conservation”.

Day 3: Officially Day 2: Exploring the Amazon
In the morning after breakfast you will do a hike of about 4 hours in the primary forest accompanied by the naturalist guide who will explain about medicinal plants, frogs, insects, birds, etc. Lunch at the camp and time for relax. In the afternoon you will explore the streams in a traditional rowing canoe to enjoy the uniqueness of nature. You will enjoy the sunset in the river and if conditions permit, you may be able to see pink dolphins. Return to lodge gets ready for the night walk. Dinner. This night you will have the opportunity to know and taste the different traditional drinks of the Amazon.

Day 4: Officially Day 3: Connection with Community
Enjoy a visit to the Siona Community, where you can see the preparation of their traditional bread, Casabe, and the naturalist guide will explain about the customs and traditions, in other words, the culture of the native people. Quench your hunger with a Box Lunch. Straight after lunch, we will visit the Shaman, who will talk to you about the ceremonies in the jungle. Besides, you will be able to ask questions Return to camp. After a long day. And it is time for Dinner. Conclude your day with an exciting night walk.

Day 5: Officially Day 4: time to return
Early in the morning, you will explore the river in search of birds and enjoy the sunrise. After this activity, you will return to the camp, have breakfast, and have time to organize your luggage. Then you will take the canoe back, exploring the Cuyabeno river for 2 hours in search of more fauna until the reserve's entrance, where you can take your transport back home. End of the tour.
