Your Forest Home in Bandung
Overview
The Space We live in the north part of Bandung and close to the city. We have 5 rooms in the house as we provide 3 rooms for the guests. 2 guestrooms on the bottom floor has a comfy double bed with forest views, and another one twin bed with old camera theme bed room. Drawing back the curtains to reveal a kaleidoscope of green and misty mountains is a glorious way to start the day. The spacious guest bathroom with double sink and Western shower and toilet is on the same floor. The comfy living area and shared kitchen is modern and fully-equipped, and the kettle is always on the boil for tea and exceptional local coffee. In Kampung Bengkok children fly kites atop rolling green hills, at dusk the mountains are shrouded in mist and the sounds of the city are replaced with a chorus of insects, bird calls and suling (traditional Sundanese flute), which you can hear from the balcony as it drifts in on the wind. The absolute highlight of Rumah Wolfard is the expansive balcony with breathtaking forest views and various spaces for relaxing. It’s the perfect place for reading, watching village life below, and enjoying our delicious Indonesian and Western cuisine. As Rumah Wolfard is in a kampung there is no main road direct access, so the hosts can meet you at the top of the path, which is about 0.5km and somewhat steep. A taxi from central Bandung to the top of the path takes about 15 minutes (or 20 in heavy traffic) and should cost no more than 40,000 IR. Please discuss taxi directions with us. Pick up from the airport or train station can also be arranged. Interaction with guests is the focus of Rumah Wolfard, as the kitchen is always buzzing with life and the balcony is where meals are served. We also offer Basa Sunda and Bahasa Indonesia lessons, as well as a range of other activities such as guided walks through the kampung and to nearby Dago Curug Waterfall. They are also happy to provide information about the surrounding area, tours and transport.
