Syokimau Safari Homestay
Overview
My husband and I are the proprietors of the Syokimau Safari Homestay. Located off Mombasa Road 20 minutes for the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (Code: NBO) provides overland travelers, adventure bikers, gap year adventurers and backpackers with a restful guesthouse to relax, refresh and restock. Accommodation at the Syokimau Safari Homestay is in a small two bedroom guesthouse with kitchenette and bathroom. One room sleeps three persons on an alcove bunk bed. The second room sleeps one person. Guests can self cater meals or opt to dine with your hosts, the Muthamas. While staying at the Syokimau Safari Homestay, you can learn Kiswahili and Kikamba, how to prepare Akamba food and how to germinate and care for dryland tree seedlings. You can take day trips to Nairobi National Park, Amboseli National Reserve, Lake Magadi, Olegesalie Prehistoric site, Nairobi Railway Museum, National Museum, Giraffe Center, Daphne Sherick Elephant Orphanage, Karen Blixen Museum, Nairobi Forest Sanctuary, Lake Nakuru National Park, Oldonye Sabuku National Reserve, Fourteen Falls, Ivovoani Farm Dryland Forest Sanctuary, Nzambani Rock, and Wamunyu Akamba Handicraft Center. You can take two day overland camping excursions to Amboseli National Reserve, Chyulu Hills National Reserve, and South Kitui National Reserve. I am married to William Muthama. We have three children born in 2008, 2010 and 2014.
House Rules
We are a family environment. Children have a right of way all the time. Music should be played within reasonable decibels. No drugs are allowed. No smoking is allowed. Nudity is prohibited. Pets must be declared on bookings for admission. Curfew time: 10.00pm
