Stay with friendly Swedish family
Overview
Welcome to our home! We are a warm and social Swedish family of four – two adults and two young children (ages 3 and 5) – living in a charming countryside-style wooden house just outside the small, picturesque town of Alingsås. You’ll have your own spacious private bedroom (17 m²), and share the rest of the home with us – including the kitchen, bathroom, living room, and our peaceful garden. You’re welcome to cook in the kitchen and enjoy the shared spaces together with us. We live with two friendly cats, so it's good if you're not allergic to them. We also have bicycles you can borrow and a parking space if you're arriving by car. Alingsås is known as "the capital of fika" – famous for its cafés and laid-back vibe. It's a bike-friendly town, and only a 10-minute bike ride from our home to the town center. From there, it's just 30 minutes by train to Gothenburg, Sweden's second-largest city. If you prefer nature, there are plenty of nature reserves and parks in Alingsås. The nearest nature reserve and swimming lake are just a 10-minute walk away. Because we have two energetic and playful young children, life in our home can sometimes be lively and noisy. So it's a big plus if you enjoy a bit of fun chaos, movement, and family energy – and especially if you're someone who likes kids and doesn't mind some everyday family life happening around you. We enjoy meeting people from different cultures and would love to welcome someone who is open, kind, and curious about everyday life in Sweden. Whether you’re an exchange student, intern, volunteer, or traveler, you'll have a cozy place to stay and the chance to be a part of our Swedish family life. House Rules
1. No smoking inside or on the property. Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere in or around the house. 2. Clean up after yourself. Please keep your room and shared areas tidy. Clean up in the kitchen after cooking (we have dishwasher). 3. Use of shared facilities. You are welcome to use the kitchen, bathroom, living room, and garden. Please respect everyone’s space and our belongings. 4. Guests and visitors. Please inform us if you plan to have visitors or stay overnight guess. This must be confirmed with us in advance. 5. Safety and security. Lock doors and windows when leaving the house. Let us know if anything is broken or needs attention. 6. Children and lively home environment. We have two energetic small children, so there may be noise and activity during our daily routines (breakfast, evening play, bedtime). We appreciate guests who are comfortable with a family atmosphere and like kids. 7. Pets in the home. We have two cats. Please show them respect and friendliness. If you have allergies, please consider this carefully before booking. 8. Respect check-in and check-out times. Please communicate arrival and departure times in advance.
