Overview
I live in a house built in 1895 that me and my father lovingly restored while keeping it's original charm. I am the third owner the house, only preceded by the wealthy brewing company family that built the house and archdiocese of Chicago which ran the home as a Catholic settlement house in Chicago. I'm public transitable to most major universities in Chicago including: Depaul, Northwestern, Columbia, UIC, Loyola, IIT, CSU, Roosevelt, Kendall. The property spans three city lots and has over 7000sq ft of total living space across two buildings. The house is about a block away from the Kedzie green line station and is about 20 minutes from the city center via public transit/biking. The house has a shared kitchen and multiple shared bathrooms. There is about 2500 square feet of common areas including a dining room, pool room, 2 living rooms, and a tv area. There are a total of 11 bedrooms in house, of which I'm happy to recommend which room is the best fit based on your needs/requirements. The house has a private yard with multiple outdoor seating areas, and if you have a car that's electric, I have charging for that as well. I travel overseas for work about 4 months out of the year, but I have some other long term guests that help manage the property while I'm away. I'm open to arrangements like this with tenants on a case by case basis. The house has 1 gigabit wifi and commercial access points. All utilities including heat, power, internet are included.
House Rules
Since you are staying in my home, I just ask that you have basic respect for my house and the belongings. Be courteous to others and clean up after yourself when using the kitchen/bathrooms. Smoking is not permitted inside the house, however there are multiple areas that have been designated for this activity. I ask that you be respectful of others with quiet hours beginning at 10pm and going until 8am. This doesn't mean church mouse quiet, but just turn the TV/Stereo down. If you have guests over the best place for this is the first floor where there are no bedrooms.
