Overview
My home is a 3 bedroom terrace in a nice quiet location in Raheny with all you could need close by incl. good public transport links, about 7 minutes walk from Raheny Dart Station. It's an affordable place to stay for events & holidays such as the concerts in St. Anne's Park & Malahide Castle www.concertexpress.ie , annual Phil Lynott birthday celebration at The Bloody Stream Howth in August, Halloween, Christmas shopping in Dublin etc. The main bathroom is for exclusive use by guests & has an instant shower. Room 1 is a Twin Room on the ground floor near the main door, giving easy access & privacy. Room 2 is a Single Room upstairs & can be a good room for students or solo travellers & Room 3 is a Twin Room also upstairs, next to the bathroom. All rooms have Tea / Coffee facilities.
House Rules
Some important notes for safety & so you can relax as follows: To secure the main door when exiting the house press the handle down to exit, close it behind you, then lift the handle up & turn the key to the right. It is securely locked when the handle is firmly in a horizontal position. Please also remember to close windows where access could be gained when leaving. If using the large older cooker for cooking (hobs only) please check all hobs are off (at 0 setting) before leaving the area. Fire Blanket placed in area as reminder. There are many modern cooking alternatives in the area also. Kettles are for boiling water only. An electrician advised against turning the shower on & off frequently during the course of a shower. Particularly in high season there can be very little time between guests leaving & arriving so estimated arrival & departure times are helpful to me regarding your rooms, but please know you can stay around my home as long as you need. My contact details & your keys will be in your room on arrival & Wi-Fi details are in the hall. Tea & Coffee facilities are in all the bedrooms as well as in the Kitchen / Dining area. Help yourselves to anything you need to eat & drink in the Kitchen / Dining area. There are also bags there if you need them. There is cold water for drinking in the fridge always & everything to cover a light breakfast & more in that area. You can eat & drink there or bring it back to your room. If keeping some items in the fridge there are labels beside the fridge, so other guests know not to take those. There is garden furniture in the shed & I will put it out in good weather. There is a good selection of restaurants & takeaways in the area & many do deliveries. A small delivery charge applies & a small tip for them is considered polite. Four Star Pizza delivers late. SuperValu Shop Raheny is approximately 10 minutes walk away & has long opening hours - very convenient & good value. The Manhattan bar is closer & does great breakfast, brunch, dinner & drinks options. There are towels in the hot press right next to the bathroom, instant shower & shampoo in the bathroom, everything to cover basic needs here. I really appreciate your care of facilities & being conscious of other guests who might be here. Thank you very much for your care & consideration. There is a TV in Room 1 & a library as part of the TV package with a very good selection of movies & shows. If in other rooms I can arrange the loan of a Tablet or Portable DVD Player to watch TV or Movies if you are stuck for options. I respect privacy & stay back as a rule but if you need help with anything do not hesitate to ask. I want you to be relaxed & happy here. The home is good value & that is my aim. I always try to be fair & improve - a good review really means a lot & I will remember it if you are ever stuck for a place again. I will give any other information needed as required. Transport I find Rome2Rio a good app for travel planning & options in general, the Moovit app useful for buses & if you search Raheny Dart Live you can get live departure times for the local train station & more (Iarnrod Eireann). For later transport options contact www.dublinbus.ie - Nitelink & other options. Taxi details are also left in the hall. I use the 102 bus to get to & from the Airport usually, getting the DART to Malahide & the 102 stop is a very short walk from there opposite the Church. There are many great excursions easily possible from this location at low cost on public transport - ask for more information if needed.
