Overview
My mamacita and I live in a lovely, SAFE and quiet neighborhood in beautiful Merida, Mexico. I am a retired language teacher (Spanish, my first language and French), and a fan of Mexican Cultures and Cuisines! . If you are coming to immerse yourself in Spanish language and Maya culture, we will only speak in Spanish. In our Colonia (neighbourgood), public transportation is close by as are many cafes, restaurants, banks, pharmacies, laundry and other services. Uber and Didi ride services are dependable and inexpensive. Casa Gaby is a single family home which is freshly painted throughout. Our Homestay rooms have their own remodeled bathrooms and new beds. Your cozy room includes a Dbl Bed, large closet, desk and your own private bath with shower. There is also a twin bedded room with en-suite bathroom on the second floor. Both rooms have ceiling fans and Air conditioning. Our daily dining room looks out on to a cool and shady Patio which you are welcome to share with us. A light breakfast will be provided each morning; please indicate whether there are any allergies so we can accommodate you.
House Rules
50% Payment is made 3 days in advance via Venmo and the balance is due upon arrival. You are very welcome in our Home! This is a family neighborhood so please be considerate if you come in after 10:00 PM and let the host know. Smoking is not permitted on the property. We do not have any Pets and Pets are not permitted. Guests are not allowed, but there is a terrific wine bar and a German Bierhaus down the street. Please keep your room orderly while you are out. Laundry facilities are 2 blocks away and they wash, dry and fold for a very reasonable fee. Please do not hesitate to let us know if you need anything and if you have any food allergies! Gracias.

Recamara Sol is suitable for one or two persons and is decorated in a restful colour palette, has a private side entrance, a new A/C unit and its private bathroom just outside the door.
This room is on the second floor of the house and it has its own recently remodeled bathroom. The twin beds are brand new so it can accommodate one or two guests or two children if the parents stay downstairs.
