Live with locals in Haiphong
Overview
We are a 3 - generation -family living together. A little bit about my family: my father is a mechanic who has an iron shop within our house, my mother is a gentle and a hard working farmer. We are living under the same roof with my older brother, his wife and two nephews. We have one dog and one cat. As I told from the start, we are a very typical and ordinary family as nearly 80% of the population of Vietnam! In front of my house is a river. Behind my house is a small rice fields. My house is just 500 meters from the local market and it is not far at all to the main fields, the corn fields, the dike or the fish lakes. Coming here, you will have a chance to live as a local in a really peaceful rural area! You will not only watch but will completely join! :-)) And of course, we will introduce you many local food as well, most of them grown or bred locally! Actually my family is quite familiar with living with foreigners since I have been running an English-teaching project for children in our village with the help from many volunteers who come from Germany, Italy, Switzeland, Spain, Turkey, America, Poland, Rumania... We are 1 hour and 20 minutes away from Hanoi by a direct bus. Plus, my house is about 2 hours away from Halong Bay, Catba Island and Trang An, Ninh Binh - a world heritage site. So if you want to visit those places, I can help you to plan your trip to have greatest experiences! I used to worked as a tour guide in Halong Bay so hopefully I will be able to help with some helpful recommendations.
