Since everyone speaks English, that makes the guests easy to communicate and understand local culture and learn language. Lalu is Nepali language trainer so the guests can learn Nepali during their stay with her. You will enjoy with the both western and Nepalese cuisines prepared by Lalu and her daughter. In Lalu's home stay, everyone is very important person; guests are treated as their god. 10% of the profit goes social work. She has been helping poor children in Nuwakot district for the last 10 years for their education. It will be a great contribution from your side if you stay with her family in Kathmandu. You can come and stay with her any time throughout the year. Her homestay can be a permanent base camp of your trips in Nepal.
House Rules
As you enter to your Home Stay family, you are expected to honor ! Around the house: -Take short showers and turn off lights when they are not in use. Utilities are very expensive in Nepal! -Do not adjust the heating/cooling thermostat yourself. Talk to your family about your needs. -If your family has pets, be very careful not to let them out of the house! -When you make yourself a snack, leave the kitchen clean – that is, exactly as you found it. -When you use the restroom facilities, rinse out the shower or bathtub, remove any hair, wipe off the sink, etc. Leave the bathroom as you found it! -Keep your room to the standards required by your home stay family. -Keep your belongings in your room when you are not using them. Safety: -You are part of a family. It is expected that your “Nepalese Family” will know where you are and when you will return. -If you need to be out after dark, please let your family know. They will usually arrange to help you get where you need to go and home safely. -Please have your mobile telephone with you, and keep it well-charged. -If you are uncomfortable with anything, let your family know.
