Homestead with 18th C. log cabin
Overview
We are a family with a small farm next to a big forest with a nice, elevated view in Eastern Norway, a 2 hour drive from the capital, Oslo. We have enough fields, living area and forest on our homestead to develop it into becoming a small independent community for people who would like to live on the premises, part- or full time. Or just visit us. Perhaps you? So far involved: = David: Speaks German, English and Norwegian, has background in emergency and remote / disaster medicine, teaches crises management and is a jack of all trades on our homestead. = Frida: Speaks English and Norwegian, has a background as a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer. Plants and gardening are a big interest area. = The kids (teen and 10-yearold) are also bilingual, active, interested in agriculture and "friluftsliv" (outdoor activities). Combined we have good knowledge of DIY, preparedness, dancing, healthy living, rescue, advanced first aid, energy. Our freetime activities span from trail running to aerosports, sailing, climbing/mountaineering and some scuba diving. You will stay in our guesthouse. It has a living room / kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Own veranda. The cottage if from the 18th-century, renovated with healthy materials. Rustic style, yet comfortable: year-round driveway, tap water, underfloor heating, hot shower, toilet, gas burner, fridge, wood stove, washing machine. On our small farm, you can enjoy complete calm and privacy without noise from large machines. But our location and surroundings also offers many activities for an action-packed stay: Our forest with trails starts right behind the cabin, biking distance to a lake. 10 min by car brings you to a large river with sandy beaches, cross country skiing, motocross, airstrip. Feel free to ask us for tips on your next adventure or join us on some. You can also rent a heated hot tub, snowshoes, bike, paintball gear, kayak, hammock, or just enjoy silence.
