Case delle Rose Countryside in Memphis
Overview
It is assumed that the host lives on the same property, offers guests all the assistance they need, but the house where they will be hosted is independent and autonomous from the one where they will stay. Having said this premise, I assure you that the atmosphere you breathe at Casa delle Rose is typically Mediterranean. Staying here is a genuine Sicilian experience; rurality and tradition, combined with the sobriety of the home, guarantee a familiar and authentic welcome and hospitality. The possibility of spending pleasant moments of relaxation, enjoying private outdoor spaces, enriches this feeling of well-being, ease and intimacy. Casa delle Rose, is accessible through a large veranda covered with reeds, bordered on one side by an ancient stone wall, evidence of the old pre-existing 19th century farmhouse, and on the other by a colorful rose garden to which we we are inspired to choose the name of this House. It is arranged over two floors: on the ground floor you are welcomed into the large and bright living area, from which, in addition to the luxuriant surrounding countryside, you can see the colors of a centuries-old Bouganvillea that paints the horizon that flows into the sea. A highly distinctive element of the house, as well as of this area, is the ancient stone wall, also evidence of the previously mentioned ancient farmhouse, which delimits one side. The living room is equipped with all comforts; the furnishings combine tradition, typicality and rurality with simplicity, sobriety and essentiality, it is then characterized by the presence of a large and efficient cooking corner in which the predominant element, as well as a link with the rural tradition of the area , is a hob and worktop made with ceramic tiles produced by a master ceramist from Sciacca; they show the colours, designs, geometries and inserts of an 18th century ceramic production from Sciacca. Adjacent to the living area, our guest friends will be able to take advantage of a small pantry and a separate area that encloses the space intended for the laundry. Outside the living room, on the reed-covered veranda, guests can indifferently organize their moments dedicated to food and also enjoy the cool evenings that the temperate evening climate of Sicily gives us. The ground floor is completed with one of the two bedrooms with which the house is equipped. This first bedroom looks out, through a large and bright French window, onto the veranda bordered by the rose garden and an oleander hedge. This room is also typical for the presence of the often mentioned ancient wall in exposed stone which in this case is enclosed in a masonry frame forming a picture above the headboard of the double bed. It has at its disposal an independent room service that can also be used by people with disabilities. The furniture includes the double bed, the walk-in closet and the chest of drawers. The large French window can be closed by curtains made with completely blackout material to allow maximum comfort for guests who prefer to rest in the dark. From the living area, the Upper Floor is reached via an internal staircase with a single ramp, typical of rural houses in the area, which allows access to the second bedroom of the house. This, to the south, through a large and bright window enjoys the view and the landscape that opens onto the valley and the sea. A French window, placed on the north side of the room, opens onto a veranda covered with reeds from which, reclining on simple, linear but comfortable armchairs, it is possible to enjoy the fresh north wind and the geometries designed by the luxuriant rows of vineyards which delimit the area of the house. It too is equipped with an independent room service. The furniture includes two single beds, which can be transformed into a double bed, a walk-in closet and a chest of drawers. Specific curtains on the window frames, made with completely blackout material, allow maximum comfort for guests who prefer to rest in the dark. The house, also on the upper floor, is also equipped with a very bright veranda, covered with beams and Etna chestnut planks, which faces south through a large window. The latter, delimiting the wide and deep visible panorama, actually transforms itself into the frame of the natural picture it creates, in which the "painting" is represented by the countryside, the valley and the sea that closes the background. The house is fully air-conditioned and the Wi-Fi is always active and accessible in all its internal and external areas.
