Casa Kep Eco-Homestay
Overview
We are a small, private, gated, pet-friendly eco-home & mini permaculture farm, located at the foothills of Kep National Park, just minutes from Kep Beach and the famous Kep crab market in Kep, Cambodia. Guests who choose to stay with us are considered family and are welcomed with warm smiles and fresh baked cookies. For breakfast, guests are provided with fresh baked artisan bread, tropical fruit jam (made on site), local organic duck eggs or Casa Kep eggs, seasonal fruit, homemade maple granola, yogurt, fresh milk or nutmilk, tea and coffee. Your guest kitchen is fully equipped so you can choose to make your own meals while visiting or visit the local eateries in the surrounding area. I (Kate the owner) am an American female univeristy lecturer, artist, and baker who is obsessed with sustianabilty and loves to paint, fix stuff, build things, as well as cook/bake. I feel very blessed to be able to live in such a beautiful space and I just want to share this space with you. I current live in the ground floor of the main house and am normally around to answer questions, to fix something that is not working or just have a chat. The site has one private bungalow that is available for guests and a private first floor suite with a massive balcony (this is now only available via private chats), both are available for short or long term stays. The private bungalow is equipped with a king size bed (with bedding), a huge private bathroom, small private seating area with a smart TV (Netflix) and sofa, a small private equipped kitchenette and private patio with a dining table, chairs, and hammock. Please note, the property is a developing permaculture farm with three dogs, four indoor cats, free range chickens, a small banana orchard, small pepper area, and a lot of fruit trees. Guests are always welcome to play with the dogs as well as freely pick any fruit in season or use eggs they may find around the property. Also on site there is a small dipping pool with a bamboo ledge for drinks or sitting, a guest gazebo with an outdoor sofa and chairs, a BBQ area and plenty of hammocks and seating areas for napping, resting, reading or just chilling out.
House Rules
Be respectful of the property, your noise levels, all the critters that live on site (including the wild ones), to the locals, and our fragile environment. Note 1: We love critters so we are pet-friendly! You are welcome to bring your furry loved one with you as long as they have all vaccines, and are friendly to other critters (cats/dogs/chickens/humans). Note 2: We are an eco-home, please be aware of the types of soap/shampoo you bring to the property as these impact our water systems as well as outside plastics/styrofoam (water bottles and take away containers can be provided if needed). We do provide organic soaps/shampoo for short term guests. Note 3: We are on a private well that is feed by the surrounding mountains so we request that you watch how much water you are using. Take shorter showers and turn off taps once you are finished using the sinks. Note 4: I do not provide daily cleaning (I feel it invades your private space) or change the bedding/towels daily, don't ask for this - I will say no as it is not environmentally friendly - unless of course you have brought half the beach home with you and there is sand everywhere - then I will take care of it. For shorter stays I will do a deep clean of your space once a week and change all bedding/towels. For long term stays I provide extra bedding/towels that you are responsible for (I will clean the comforters once a month). There is a large washing machine on site with eco-soaps that guests are welcome to use at any time during the day. Note 5: Quiet hours are from 9:00pm-7:00am, unless you have requested a private party then the hours extend to 11:00pm. Note 6: you are welcome to have visitors during the day but must leave by 9:00pm, unless a private party has been requested in which visitors must leave by 11:00pm. Note 7: private parties can be arranged, just ask. Note 8: Payment can be made via USD cash, Khmer Riel, or Visa/MC. Passports must be presented upon check in.
