Bharat Homestay – The Native Himalayan is a peaceful, family-run homestay located in the scenic Himalayan village of Agora, just above Uttarkashi. Surrounded by dense forests, river trails, and trekking routes, our homestay offers a quiet and meaningful experience for travelers, trekkers, and culture seekers. The house is a traditional two-floor mountain home with: 5 private rooms on the first floor, each with an attached bathroom (ideal for solo travelers, couples, and small groups). 1 private room on the ground floor 2 dormitory rooms (6 beds each), best for trekkers and budget travelers 2 clean bathrooms for dorm use (1 Indian + 1 Western style) We have two kitchens – one shared for regular guests and one for those joining treks and camping activities. The house has a cozy café space, where travelers can read books, paint, draw, or simply relax. There's a shared garden and balcony with beautiful mountain views. We serve homecooked Garhwali meals made with love and local ingredients. Being a base for treks like Dodital, Dayara Bugyal, Darwa Pass, Gulabi Kantha, and Mukta Top, this homestay is ideal for nature lovers and adventurers. We also offer birdwatching, village tours, day hikes, river walks, and local cultural experiences. Staying at Bharat Homestay means more than just a room – it’s about living with the locals, experiencing the native Himalayan life, and finding peace in nature.
House Rules
General Etiquette Respect the serenity and simplicity of the village lifestyle. Maintain peace and quiet, especially during early mornings and after 10 PM. Help us keep the homestay clean — treat it like your own home. Kitchen & Food Shared kitchen use is available only upon request. Local meals are served at fixed times. Please inform in advance for any special requirements. Outside food is not encouraged in the dining/common areas. Rooms & Shared Spaces smoking are allowed inside the rooms — outdoor areas are available. Balcony, garden & café spaces are shared — please be courteous to other guests. Use dormitories and shared washrooms responsibly — clean after use. Safety & Restrictions Drugs or any form of substance abuse is strictly prohibited. Please avoid loud music or parties — this is a peaceful, family-friendly environment. Bonfires and treks should only be done with permission or under guidance. Local Respect Kindly dress modestly around villagers and respect local traditions. Photography of locals or their homes must be done with their consent.
