Beautiful Sunlit Room for Rent
Overview
We are a quiet and friendly family of 2 looking to rent a cozy and sunlit upper bedroom to a mature and independent student aged 20+. The house is shared with myself, a full-time judicial assistant at the London courthouse, and my eldest son who is a full-time student at Fanshawe College - both laid-back, respectful and kind. My youngest son, 15, visits on Sundays and holidays. Fully finished house, fully furnished bedroom - freshly painted with new amenities. Our house is located near express bus routes to UWO (4 km) and Fanshawe (2 km), in the heart of Wortley Village (Old South), once voted Canada's best neighborhood for its "walkability, bike-friendly roads, tree-lined streets, thriving local businesses and strong sense of community." Groceries, restaurants, banks, dental and medical offices, art galleries, pharmacy, library and express bus route to Western are all within a short walking distance. The downtown core is an 8-minute bus ride or a 15-minute walk from where we live. Thames Park, with its outdoor pool, tennis courts, green space and community gardens, is down the street. We offer a clean, safe and relaxed home environment with shared bathroom, kitchen, dining room, laundry facilities, and access to kitchen appliances, cookware, dishes, utilities and wi-fi. The bedroom is furnished with a double size bed, newer mattress, bedding, storage, desk, lamp and chair. Our home is comfortable, clean and welcoming. The rental does not come with parking but arrangements can be made if needed. The house is mostly empty during the day, not counting our cat who comes and goes as she likes. There is often someone home in the evening though we are rather a quiet bunch. The boys like to game, hang out with their friends, play pool, basketball or Dungeons & Dragons. After work and school, we like to watch movies together. In the summer, we go camping or swimming, we work, visit family, go on daytrips to the big city. I also run and hike, meditate, volunteer, travel when I can, and attend various study groups. I am of French descent and speak it fluently. We all look forward to welcoming a newcomer to our home.
House Rules
Respect and discretion are the main requirements. No parties, no alcohol, no smoking. Guests are expected to keep their room and shared spaces clean, and to wash up promptly after meals. Energy conservation and recycling in effect. No guest pets.
