An African experience in Uganda
Overview
We are a mixed culture family. Johnson is from Uganda and Anthea is from England. We have three children aged 18, 16 and 11. We have recently come back from living in England and set up home here in East Africa. We would love to share our home with you, whether you are passing through, or need to stay longer. We have self contained apartments if you wish, or you can stay in one of our rooms. We are happy to include you in our family meals for an extra price or you can do your own thing. We enjoy cooking and have a mixture of African food and English food, plus the usual Italian dishes. We live a 10 minute drive from the town of Jinja on the shores of Lake Victoria. One main attraction is the Source of the River Nile. There are boat trips and kayaking on the Nile as well as white water rafting further down the river. There are also plenty of quality places where you can eat out, as well as swimming pools to enjoy. The Main Street is full of little shops with locally made craft items, clothes and beautiful art which support the people who live here. We can arrange for a driver to take you into town for a small fee or to drive you around for the day. The good thing about staying with us is that you will have a better idea of what it is to live among the people of Africa in a secure environment.
House Rules
People should be respectful that a child may be sleeping after 9 pm. As a family we not take alcoholic beverages regularly. We accept that you may wish to enjoy an occasional drink. We only ask that it is not in excess.
