Konnichiwa! Welcome to Japan! Planning to visit or study Japanese language in Tokyo? We are looking forward to having you with us. You might be nervous as well as excited about living in Tokyo. Hope the below descriptions will give you some ideas about our place and family. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. We are always happy to answer all your questions Our house is brand new, clean and tidy. It is located just 3-min walk to the bus stop and the bus will bring you to the station in 10-12 minutes. However, the bus will only come 3-4 times in an hour depending on the schedule. You can ride a bicycle easily along the huge straight street and in just 8 mins you can reach Kiyose station. Our place is not crowded compare to many places in Tokyo. However, you can enjoying seeing some vegetable fields which change every season, charming traditional houses as well as many modern, shrine, temple and new houses, restaurants, shops, tall trees, etc on the way to the station. Therefore, we would like to invite someone who enjoy and appreciate such neighborhood. At the moment we have our daughter staying with us. She is working. Besides Japanese, we speak fluent English and I speak Indonesian. We can assist you with opening the bank account, go to the ward, etc. *We are happy to help you with your Japanese study for free whenever we can. We have 1 bedroom, about 8m2, on the 2nd floor with 2 windows. The room is not big but tidy & clean and has a study desk, desk lamp, some spaces to stow your belongings, Air-conditioning, heater, bedsheet and futon and futon cover. However, I can't recommend someone with many luggages. We also have a coat hanger, if you want. I am sure you can study or work comfortably in this room. We'll provide a clean bed sheet, futon cover and pillow case and in-house sandals, bath towel, cup, etc. You need to purchase your own toothbrush, shampoo, etc. We have upright piano in the living room. You are free to practice it, just let us know beforehand. You can use microwave and toaster. For breakfast, we provide cereal, tea or coffee. We don't provide lunch/dinner. You can buy your own milk, fruits and put in the refrigerator. There are supermarkets/ convenience stores at the station or on the way to our place where you can easily buy your meal. You can't use the stove for safety reason. Pick-up at Haneda airport by car. JPY 21,000yen (one-way), JPY 37,000yen (Round trip) Pick-up at Narita airport by car. JPY 42,000yen (one-way), JPY 78,000yen (Round trip) Let us know in advance. Hope to see you soon!
House Rules
1. Electricity goods is good for 110 volt only. You can use our hair dryer/iron. 2. Exchanging money is rather complicated in Tokyo. You need to go to certain places by train or at the airport. It's better to do it before you arrive. 3. Start a day with greetings will be nice. 4. In Japan, toilet paper dissolves in water. Please flush it after use. Keep it clean all the time. 5. You cannot flush a sanitary napkin in a toilet bowl. Just ask us how to throw it away. 6. There are a lot of rules regarding how to dispose garbage in Japan. Please follow your host family's instructions. Do not keep garbage in your room. Have your meal in the dining room. 7. Please turn off electricity when they are not in use. NEVER leave water running while brushing teeth. 8. Please be sure to clean your room and toilet, wash basin, bath, dining, kitchen or living room after use. 9. While staying in your host family, you will experience and may not understand Japanese rules. It's fine, we'll inform you so you can fit quicker in the Japanese society. 10. Japanese people welcome foreigners. You are your country ambassador that's why always behave well and greet neighbors. 11. ALWAYS listen to music or watch a movie with earphones or headsets. Keep your voice low while talking with friend after 22:00 to respect neighbors. 12. We'll teach you how to use our washing machine and dryer. Please pay JPY700,- before using each time. It includes washing powder and fragrance . We are not responsible for any damage after using. 13. Never enter other bedrooms without the consent of the owner. 14. For the safety reason, curfew (latest 11 pm) and reasonable rules will be set. You need to check the last bus timetable if you are taking a bus home. 15. You may enjoy some drink in your room but NEVER get DRUNK inside the house or come back home in drunk condition. 16. We are very reasonable people, just inform us anything in advance. 17. If you need us to send you to the nearest station, it'll cost 300 yen a ride and need to inform us in advance. 18. When you catch cough or fever, we require you to put on a mask which is a common etiquette in Japan. 19. ONLY shower to reduce water shortage. 20. Don't bring friend to the room. 21. Keep the room open and clean when you are out for safety reason. Ie: Forget to turning off electricity goods, etc. 22. We require a copy of your passport upon booking and proof of acceptance from school. 23. If you can't follow the house rules which is just a basic common sense, I will ask you to leave without reimbursing the money. 24. Please aware that in case of shorter stay, we won't refund the payment. 【When check out】 You need to clean the room and remove any dirts. If you damaged/break or make a permanent stain, you need to compensate. We will check together before or after check out. *Notes* There were few times increments in electricity, water, gas, etc in 2023. Due to that reason an extra fee of 7,000 yen per month will be charged seperately for months of May to Sep and Nov to Mar or prorate it accordingly. Please pay the extra fee at the beginning of the month. Method of Payment We request you to pay 30% of the total amount after the booking is confirmed by bank transfer and pay the rest 70% in cash upon check in. *Please ensure that you cover all the bank fees so that we receive the full amount as stated in the booking price. Cancellation Policy We'll charge 50% of deposit if the cancellation is made in less than a month prior to arrival.
