Overview
Breakfast and dinner are included in the homestay fee. We will have dinner together every day. We are a friendly and open-minded family. We started our host family in 2013 and have hosted over 140 groups of guests. For guests who stay longer than 3 months, we sometimes plan an optional trip to the hot springs to travel with the whole family. After dinner, guests and we spend time in the living room talking, watching TV or anime, or playing games. If the schedule allows, we offer free kimono and yukata dressing experiences and Japanese cooking lessons. Unlimited free Wi-Fi is available in the house. During weekdays, grandmother is at home. She does not speak English, but if you are practicing your Japanese, you are welcome to practice your conversation. The nearest train station is an 8-minute walk away. There is a supermarket in front of the station that is open 24 hours a day. There is a convenience store and another supermarket near my house. Restaurants, pubs, karaoke bars, beauty salons, city hall, and hospitals are all on the road to the station. There are many temples and shrines near my house. There is also a portable shrine museum. You can enjoy strolling through the streets of old Japanese culture. [ Meet the family ] Marie: I work full time on weekdays and come home around 6pm. After studying abroad in the UK and staying with a host family, I decided to become a host mother because I wanted to make international friends around the world. Tsuyoshi：My hobby is gaming. We have two PS5 and four Nintendo Switches at home. He has a black belt in karate. If you are interested in karate, we can give you lessons. Long term residents can also join the karate class. Grandma: She is 95 years old and is very healthy. During the day, she cleans the house, cooks, and often watches period dramas on TV. Lina: 14 years old and in Junior high school. She likes watching YouTube and playing online game. She's a fan of Hatsune Miku and loves Vocaloid. Tomo: 10 years old and in elementary school. He likes to play games. He likes to talk about games. Powerful boy Choco( Shiba dog) : born in2022 August.
House Rules
No smoking inside the house. I can't prepare special menus for Vegetarians and this homestay is not suitable for vegetarians. MEALS/FOOD Breakfast--- Most of the time I cook egg and some few things. If you don’t want, just leave it. Dinner - 19:30-20:00 After dinner, we all wash the dishes so please help us! If you don’t need dinner, please tell me. Or you should write this down on the calendar please. BATH You can use the shower anytime except 05:00-07:30 If you want to soak in the bath tub, please use it after dinner. Please don’t pull the plug out, we share the hot water. Don’t keep the shower on for more than 5 mins. Please wash your body before you soak in the bath tub. Dry yourself with a bath towel before get out the bath room. Please put your name on all your items. Please put towels and toiletries on the shelf (don’t put them on the floor) TOILET Don’t flush the toilet anything down the toilet except toilet paper. When you use toilet, invariably have a sheet. Please keep the toilet clean. WASHING MACHINE Please put clothes in the washing net. Every night we will wash your clothes with ours. Please hang up your clothes to dry yourself. FRIDGE Write your name on anything that is yours and put it in the red fridge (we have two fridges and 1 freezer) YOUR ROOM Keep it clean, turn off lights and air conditioning when you leave your room. Don’t use pins on the wall. kids go to bed around 10:00PM so after this time, please be quiet but you can take a shower or come back late. OTHER Please don’t overnight absence without telling us. We would worry about you!
