I'm Diego, Argentinian by birth and French at heart. I've lived in the south of France for years and I'm passionate about sharing the secrets of this country that has adopted me. I created the first blog and podcast channel about the Charming Villages of France, a project dedicated to discovering the magical little corners that abound here, with their history, their people, and their gastronomy. As your guide, my goal is for you to experience France from the inside: with curiosity, excitement, and authenticity. My tours combine history, local culture, and personal anecdotes—all told with a touch of humor and passion. I invite you to explore this wonderful part of the country with me and enjoy France in a different way! 🌿🇫🇷

Description

Welcome to Nîmes, a jewel of southern France known as the French Rome. Small, elegant, sunny, and full of life. You'll see.

On this tour, guided by a local, we will travel through Roman grandeur, but also through contemporary life, discovering the monuments, legends and flavors that make Nîmes a unique city.

We will begin next to the Fontaine Pradier, a symbol of the city and the perfect place to talk about its origins, its legends and its Mediterranean identity.

We will walk among Gothic churches, Roman gates, markets and charming little streets: from the Porte d'Auguste to the majestic Maison Carrée, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Did you know that one of the world's most famous garments was born here? I'll tell you which one and why its name is forever linked to this city.

Of course, we will stop at traditional boutiques where we will evoke the most typical flavors of the local gastronomy: among others, Le Petit Pâté Nîmois or the brandade de morue.

Our walk will take us through charming corners known only to locals, but also the Jardin de la Fontaine, the enigmatic Temple of Diana, and the imposing Arenas of Nîmes, where we will relive the era of gladiators.

And yes, you'll also discover the mystery of the crocodile, the emblem of Nîmes. Why does it appear in all its symbols?

Do you know the international stars who have visited the city? I'll tell you about them and the luxurious hotel where they stay, which we'll also visit.
