Description

Step into the mystery of Japan’s ancient Kofun period with this 1 hour and 15 minutes walking through the Mozu Tombs in Sakai, Osaka, a UNESCO World Heritage Site

We’ll meet near Mozu Station and begin by walking through quiet local streets toward the majestic Daisen Kofun, one of the largest tombs in the world, believed to be the resting place of Emperor Nintoku.

Along the way, I’ll share the history, legends, and hidden meanings of these giant keyhole-shaped tombs, built over 1,600 years ago. We’ll stop at scenic viewpoints, learn how the tombs were built, and explore the peaceful atmosphere of Sakai’s ancient district.

This tour is not a lecture guide service, but a friendly cultural walk with stories, local insights, and opportunities to reflect on Japan’s deep past.
