Free tour with a local guide: Behind the walls of Prague Castle
We weren't born in Prague 🏰, but we've lived in this wonderful city for many years, and we're completely in love with it. We were born in the former communist Czechoslovakia ☭🇨🇿🇸🇰, so we grew up with a very different worldview – and we love sharing it with our visitors. Peter lived in Spain 🇪🇸 for 6 years, and Bobby spent over 12 years in England 🇬🇧. There, we learned languages, but we also learned how to connect with people and make each tour a unique experience! We're passionate about history, art, and good music. And our tours aren't just city walks — they're a way to show you who we Czechs are: how much beer we drink 🍻, our customs, how we think and feel. Every tour is different. We adapt to the group and the topics that interest them most: one day we talk about the Middle Ages, another day about the Cold War, secrets of Prague, or cultural curiosities. At the end of the tour, we'll give you our local recommendations: where to eat authentic Czech food without paying tourist prices, what to avoid, and what to discover based on your tastes. Because when you book a tour with Peter or Bobby, you're not hiring a guide—you're gaining a local friend who will help you make the most of your time in Prague.

How can you spot me? Easy: I'm the only guide who never carries an umbrella. You'll find me at the other end of the Rudolfinum stairs, not where the guides with umbrellas are waiting. I always carry a backpack and a water bottle in my hand... and if my dog shows up, there's no mistaking me 🐶. Before the tour, I always text you on WhatsApp or email, and if you have WhatsApp, I'll send you my live location so you don't miss me 😉.
Description
Did you know that Prague Castle is the largest ancient fortress in the world? Don't worry, it won't be a boring class: I was born in Czechoslovakia and grew up after communism, so my stories have humor, anecdotes, and the occasional surprise 😉.
We start next to the Rudolfinum and cross the Mánes Bridge with picture-postcard views. We climb through less touristy spots, like the Winged Lion Park, where I'll tell you about a terrorist attack worthy of a movie. We pass by the Deer Moat (yes, deer really lived here) and the South Garden, then continue toward the defensive towers and Golden Lane, before arriving at St. Vitus Cathedral and the Royal Palace, which look like something out of a fairy tale.
My favorite will not be missing: Emperor Rudolf II, a genius... and a madman. We end up in Hradčany Square, next to the Titans' Gate, with the Castle Guard in action and a view that will leave you breathless (or maybe it's the climb, we'll see 😅).
On the tour you will discover:
- Rudolfinum and Mánes Bridge.
- Winged Lion Park and the assassination attempt on Heydrich's life.
- Deer Pit and South Garden.
- Defensive towers and Golden Lane.
- St. Vitus Cathedral and Royal Palace.
- Rudolf II and his oddities.
Practical advice
Comfortable shoes (the cobblestones are unforgiving), water, and sunscreen in summer. The weather here is as unpredictable as the Czech mood 😎.
