Voices Behind the Walls – Warsaw Ghetto Free Walking Tour
Hi, I’m Robert — a tour guide in Warsaw, a photographer, and a lifelong lover of history, culture, travel, and languages. My adventure in Warsaw began about three years ago, and since then, this city has become my home. Its rich history and visible traces inspired me to start sharing its stories with others. I guide in English, Polish, German, Russian - and Hebrew. I'm especially interested in the World War II period and Jewish Heritage.

Description
Step into a meaningful walk through the tragic history of Jewish Warsaw during the World War II. Before the war, the city was home to the largest Jewish community in Europe, but this world was brutally destroyed under Nazi occupation. The walk will take you deep into the story of the Warsaw Ghetto – its creation, daily life under impossible conditions, and its liquidation.
At Grzybowski Square, you will be introduced to the history of Jewish presence and vibrant pre-war life in the city. Moving forward, you will see the Nożyk Synagogue – the only synagogue in Warsaw that survived the war. Along the way, you will discover stories of courage – silent heroes like Janusz Korczak or the staff of Bersohn and Bauman Children's Hospital, who tried to keep hope, dignity, and moments of normal life in the world collapsing around them.
You will visit the Ghetto Walls and Waliców Street, that remain in today's city, silent witnesses to an unimaginable past – a time of hunger, oppression, despair, and death. We'll end the tour at the site of the wooden footbridge on Chłodna Street, a haunting symbol of separation between the small and large ghetto and between two worlds – Jewish and non-Jewish. Here you will uncover the story of the "Great Action" of 1942, when hundreds of thousands of Jewish people were sent to Treblinka.
Join me for a walk – a journey through the darkest chapter of Warsaw's history – a chapter that erased a community and left behind memories we must never forget.
