Walking Through 800 Years of Cambridge Legends with a PhD in Education & Anthropology
Hi! I’m Eve, currently pursuing a PhD in Education at the University of Cambridge. My academic journey began with a BA in Anthropology, followed by a research-led transition into the field of Higher Education Studies. From early on, I’ve been passionate about intercultural understanding and global learning. Over the past few years, I’ve lived, worked, and conducted ethnographic research across multiple countries — including Austria, Finland, Saudi Arabia, and the UK. Through extended stays with more than five host families, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing local cultures firsthand. I once worked as an au pair while completing my master’s thesis on cross-cultural adaptation, and my fieldwork continues to inform my doctoral research on graduate employability, global mobility, and institutional prestige. Anthropology gave me the tools to engage with cultural diversity in deep and respectful ways. Since my second year of undergrad, when I first began researching the cultural adaptation of Hong Kong students in mainland China, I’ve been on a continuous journey of exploring how people learn, work, and thrive across borders. Outside academia, I’m a light entrepreneur and a creative soul. I enjoy experimenting with remote work and digital nomadism, as well as participating in collaborative projects. In my free time, you’ll often find me playing tennis, table tennis, badminton, or swimming. I also love singing, crafting, hiking, and cooking — especially when shared with others from different cultures. I believe in learning from people — their languages, lived experiences, and embodied skills. I’m always open to meaningful conversations and creative collaborations, especially those that connect education, culture, and real-world change.
