Description

Join us for a fun and eye-opening walking tour of Osaka Castle!
We walk through the castle’s clever defense system — layers of moats, stone walls, zigzag paths, and trap-like gates that confused and slowed down attackers. You’ll see the castle’s biggest stone, learn how people in the 1500s moved such huge rocks, and even spot hidden marks left by expert stone craftsmen!

We’ll also talk about why the walls are so steep (spoiler: impossible to climb!) and how the tower was used as a command center and last line of defense, with arrow slits, gun holes, and even gold decorations to intimidate enemies.

✨ Along the way, we’ll stop at key spots and explain each one in detail!
First, we’ll check out the outer moat and giant stone walls. Then, we’ll pass through the massive main gates, visit the peaceful shrine inside the castle grounds, and finally head up to the Main Tower. From the top floor, you’ll get an amazing view of the whole city — a perfect way to end the tour!

And of course, we’ll also share the dramatic story of how this “unbreakable” castle actually fell during the battles of 1614–1615, in the power struggle between Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s legacy and Tokugawa Ieyasu’s rise.
