Guatapé: Colors among the clouds
It all started one morning in Medellín, when I picked up three travelers with curious eyes and cameras ready. They didn't yet know that that day they would be ascending to heaven... or at least, as close as you can get: to the top of Piedra del Peñol .
Along the way, filled with green landscapes and conversations that turned into laughter, I told them the story of the old town submerged under the reservoir and how the locals were reborn with one of the most colorful towns in the country: Guatapé .
We climbed the 740 steps (yes, you can!) and were rewarded with a 360-degree postcard view of endless lakes. We walked down the streets lined with vibrant zócalos , had coffee in front of the village church, and finished with a boat ride that left us speechless.
