Éire Eile ~ Touring Ireland Differently

We’re Cillín and Emily — two Galway locals with a serious grá for history, culture, and stories worth telling. We created Éire Eile to shine a light on the Galway we know — not the curated version dressed up for tourists, but the vibrant, rebellious, and unexpectedly brilliant city we grew up in. Our tours are built on lived experience, local insight, and a frankly ridiculous amount of research — all shared in our own relaxed, curious, and slightly cheeky style. Expect to do a bit of walking, a bit of standing around, and the occasional well-timed nod.

Pickup

Our guide will have a green hat and a green and grey small backpack. He will be through the Spanish Arch beside the Galway Museum. Just keep an eye out for a happy looking man with glasses and a beard! His name is Cillín. Don't be shy!

Description

Every city tells a story. Galway sings one — layered, weathered, and full of discord. We’re here to tune you in.

Galway has always welcomed outsiders — traders, rebels, invaders, artists — and they’ve all left their mark.

But Galway wasn’t shaped by others alone — it carved its own path.

Through emigration, rebellion, and cultural revival, Galway became a vibrant, creative outpost on the Atlantic’s edge — stubborn, spirited, and unlike anywhere else.

We'll trace it all: from the Spanish Arch and medieval walls, to the scars of Cromwell and the echoes of rebellion.

Led by locals who know the lore, we follow the threads most tours leave out.

Walk with us — and see Galway the way it deserves to be seen.
